Planning is key. Right? Long-term. Short-term. Even, or maybe especially, if you get hit in the mouth…see last week:
http://www.weeklyramble.com/index.php/weblog/more/mike_tyson/ Ever hear the expression – “What did you do for me today” or “We are only as good as our last idea”?
Clearly there is a dichotomy – and I’d argue – strongly in fact – that the dichotomy in question affects us professionally and no less…maybe even more, personally.
Somewhere along the line – if all we do is focus on planning – and short-term or long, it all implies future state – we run the risk of missing today.
What did you do for me today….what did you do for yourself today?
“You pile up enough tomorrows and you’ll be left with nothing but a bunch of empty yesterdays. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to make today worth remembering.”
I repeat – WHAT DID YOU DO FOR YOURSELF TODAY?
So….? What did you do?
