Truth is that I had another topic in mind until I read the following from the Wall Street Journal.
I won’t comment except to say…listen:
“We become what we behold. We shape our tools and then our tools shape us.”
Marshall McLuhan
And there you have it – are you shaping or being shaped?
Do you find the Google piece too close for comfort?
We can do great things or cause great destruction (not Google – I’m being philosophical) the inflection point is when we allow the tools to shape us….
Kubrick got it right – think 9/11….
Be a shaper – not a shape-e.
As many get ready to celebrate the Easter/Passover season – seemed fitting….
What do you think?

Thought provoking… I found it funny that the Dawn of Man link was to another Google property… I guess we are already shaped by the tools but it’s up to us to determine the extent.

Without my tools, I would certainly be worth a lot less (in monetary value) – as a marketer and a statistician. Google being the foremost of my tools.
we all need tools — its what seperates humans from the rest of the living — its what we do with them
