Depressing, scary and quickly forgotten as the next horror hits the news, and then is forgotten again and again and again….
33 trapped miners stop the madness and inspire the world.
I was mesmerized. Obsessed.
I watched it all – every one of them coming out of that capsule.
I had tears in my eyes and cheered for the sheer joy of it.
And it only got better.
They had grace, belief and respect for each other and their rescuers, fought over who would be last – not first.
We talk about team…and wonder how people sitting next to each other in offices or in companies that are affiliated or in groups that have connections can work better together – respect each other more and in general be more cohesive….
I’m humbled – don’t know about you.
And yes – in our cynical and quick, on-to-the-next-thing world the story is already old. But for one shining moment it broke through, grabbed us, made us think and react spontaneously, cry for the good, believe.
