You may have not intended to do so, but I think you have managed to express the state of mind that a lot of people are in. The sense of wanting to help, but not knowing how or where, is something a lot of us are going through. :)
Quick reflection (and a quick survey from around here): Reading tech material as on screen or even long tech pdfs is fine with most people, but reading a novel on a screen isn't enjoyable (for most). The contents and the comfort factor... [Agree about Dickens].
It is interesting to note on a number of fronts that an organisation that bases itself on sound principles and practices and adheres to age old truths will maintain success much longer than those that do not.
